Honeywell Twin Window Fan, HW-305

Don't waste your time and money!
I ordered this Honeywell fan because my previous Honeywell fan lasted me 15 years of constant use. The old one is still working, but the bearings are going out, so I decided to stick with the Honeywell name. Big mistake on my part. The description says this will fit any size window, and it doesn't. I have standard size windows (30") and the expandable sides on this are rigid, and none of them (3) will make it fit in the window. I even asked a friend to look at it to see if I'm doing something wrong, and I wasn't. I hate returning items, so I thought I could make this work. I plugged it in, and a few hours (maybe 3) the left side fan is making this terrible whining sound. I am used to blocking out sounds (having children and all), however, this is annoying. I've been ordering from Amazon for about as long as the internet has been around, and I have NEVER returned anything. I'm boxing this up and shipping it back. It's a piece of crap. Ugh!

No frills, poor design
I have a Honeywell Twin fan from Amazon which has worked well for 5+ years, so I wanted another for a different room. This fan is cheaply made and poorly designed, and is the first Amazon purchase I've ever returned.
The front is one piece of molded plastic and the face is covered with dust-collecting ridges (that are supposed to suggest airflow?). You cannot rotate the grill of the fans to direct the air. Cannot have one fan do intake and the other exhaust; both are in or both are out. The side window sizing panels are separate pieces which don't seem to offer much flexibility for different window sizes. I didn't even bother trying to attach them. One appears to be adjustable. I live in a small space and don't want to have to store extra parts and pieces when the fans are not in use. However, they do seem easier to clean than the accordion-style side panels on my current fan.

I've had six of them...
I have owned six of these as we have a large home without air conditioning. They last an average of six months to two years. Three have had electrical issues as one or more of the fans in the set will short out. Two have had body cracks. Two are still working-ish.

They are cheap, but they are also cheap. The wings do not expand; only one was able to expand from the dinky screws that hold the accordion plastic (also flimsy) in place.

Buy it if you want to buy something better later but not quite yet...
