Easier to clean and more versatile
After abandoning nonstick cookware years ago, the only Teflon surface left in my kitchen was the old rice cooker. I was delighted to find this stainless steel version on Amazon and decided to give it a try, hoping that the rice would not stick to the bottom of the bowl too badly. I'm happy to say that I worried for nothing. I did "fluff" the rice when it finished cooking, but didn't find it stuck at all. Why do all those old rice cookers have Teflon bowls? I really liked how easy it was to clean this new cooker too. The stainless steel bowl went right into the dishwasher, and since the lid lifts off completely, it was also easy to wash off. I have not yet experimented with the saute and simmer or steamer modes with this cooker, but think it will offer greater versatility than my old rice cooker too. All in all, I'm very well pleased. Dump those nasty Teflon things and be healthy!
stainless steel
so happy to have a stainless steel rice cooker! kind of small, but still big enough for us to make soups, stews, chili, and spaghetti sauce. it is our everything cooker and we love it and use it everyday. we've had it about two months now, no issues so far. though we had to learn the hard way that the "keep warm" option shuts itself off after about 12 hours, maybe less. also keep warm is just that, don't expect it to be hot if you've had it on this setting for awhile. otherwise, very pleased with it. we never have trouble cleaning it. we always take it off the heat when the rice is finished cooking. then while eating dinner, let it soak, comes clean with little to no elbow grease
Super impressed
I can't say anything bad about this product. I use it all the time and every meal comes out healthy. The instruction manual laid out how to cook assorted meats, vegetables, and grains. Using it just as a steamer works great, too. A friend warned me that stainless steel isn't the easiest thing to clean, but I've had no problems or complaints. Cooking is simple and cleaning is simple. I accidentally dropped the steel pot on the floor and it had a small dent, but I managed to push it back into place easily.
This is the best appliance I have ever purchased.
