Cheaper then buying a new vacuum!
Our Dyson is over five years old, and things have started to show their age. Preparing for a Christmas party, I decided to make some wreaths in the living room and a low pile rug. The mess of pine needs was awful, but I didn't even bat an eye because I planned on vacuuming them up. I turned on the vacuum to start cleaning up, and it wasn't doing a very good job. My husband was home and asked to give it a try. He thought that maybe the brushes weren't spinning because the vacuuming was hardly sucking anything up. We tipped it over and hit the power button, and sure enough the brush was not spinning. We swept the pine needles up, and apologized to our guests for any they might still see on the floor lol! Thankfully they have a sense of humor, and we all had a good laugh at my poor judgment and bad luck. Lesson learner; no more making wreaths on the rug!

The next day my husband took the vacuum apart and realized the brush wasn't spinning because the belts were stretched out...

Tool makes impossible job possible
The order of the belt also brought two strange yellow metal objects. A look at the photographs in the instructions quickly led to insights on how to accomplish the task which previously I had considered attacking with a pocket knife. We ordered, it came, we conquered.

DC14 roller and belt service kit with belt changing tools
Good quality but changing tools were just adequate. The instructions were of no use. Had to go to Utube to replace
these belts for better instructions.
