Pretty good measuring tape
The magnet is strong, the tape is easy to read (although it notates the measurement on the tape, meaning at the 3/4 inch mark it is actually written on the tape "3/4". Some people, including myself, don't like this) and I've bounced it off many a concrete floor without any damage. My only complaint would be that the tape itself could support itself a little more when extended (it tends to flop more than I'd like).
It's not the worlds best tape measure, but it's certainly good enough.
Well, it measures
I am an electrician and this is (was) my first Klein tape measure. After two months of use I'd say the tape is satisfactory at best. Pros and cons based on my use:
Pros:
- The magnets are strong, strong enough to hold the tape in free-hang even
- Tape has measurements on both sides
- The body length (3.5") is marked on the back so you can set it flat and add to get the measurement if this appeals to you
Cons:
- Measuring tape has almost no stand-out. A coworker and I compared his 25ft Klein to my 30ft and I could repeatedly hit 7ft and his would go about 6.5ft. The tape itself is just flimsy and would often bend at only five and six feet which is extremely annoying and frustrating.
- While they didn't detach, the magnets loosened enough to spin around on the foot which was a little off-putting.
- This tape is large and heavy. granted I knew I was buying a 30ft tape so I should have known what I was getting into but I didn't like...
Best tape measure ever
This Klein tape measure is durable and I use the magnetic tip just about every time I pull it out. The handy measuring marks on the bottom takes the cake. I will buy this again.
