GE WB30M2 Stove Burner Surface Element, 8 Inch

does not fit all GE stoves
I'm posting this as a reference for future purchasers.

There are two different 6 inch burner elements for GE stoves:

* GE WB30M1 Stove Burner Surface Element, 6 Inch -- this item
* GE WB30X218 Stove/Oven/Range 6-Inch Surface Element -- also available on Amazon

The X218 has a longer neck (distance from the coil to the plug) and has "looped" terminals on the plug.
The M1 has a shorter neck and solid terminals.

Note: there is nothing wrong with the WB30M1 burner I received. It's just the wrong one for my stove and I didn't see any guidance when I ordered it. After receiving this one (WB30M1), and seeing it didn't fit, I found and ordered the WB30X218 - also from Amazon. All good. It should just be a bit easier to find the right part.

Seller misleading
Seller shows a genuine GE part in the picture, uses genuine GE part numbers and the decription indicates that it is by General Electric. I received some knockoff part that was anything but GE. This was NOT a genuine GE Calrod burner and did not heat properly at all. I f I knew this I could have bought local at the same price.

Stay away from this seller as you will not get what you think you are. Because of this, I will likely no longer do business with Amazon.

Great replacement burner coil.
Last week I turned on the wrong burner and ended up melting a plastic cutting board to the 8" burner coil on my stove. Yes this was a dumb mistake and made the house smell like a hot glue gun. Needless to say, the coil and cutting board were a complete loss and went into the trash. This replacement 8" coil fits my mid-1990s GE stove perfectly and works even better than the old one (it has even heat distribution which is fabulous!). Thanks Amazon for carrying a product I couldn't find at the big box stores!
